Media Innovation for Sustainable Tourism (Blended Intensive Project-BIP)

 

The Department of Public Relations and Advertising is participating in another international project within the scope of the “Blended Erasmus Project” in 2023. “Media Innovation for Sustainable Tourism” is a mixed-intensive project (Blended Intensive Project-BIP) with the participation of Yaşar University Graduate Education Institute, Panteion University in Greece and Darmstadt University in Germany. Dr. In the project, in which Ferah Onat participated, it was aimed to explain sustainable tourism in the Cycladic Islands, starting from Naxos Island, to the local people and then to the tourists, and to establish new business models and financial tools for this purpose. In this context, a VR and AR comprehensive digital game is being prepared, which will come to life in 2 years. Filming was done on the island in preparation for the game. In the project, one of which is a graduate of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising, Communication Master’s Program student, graduated from Yaşar University Faculty of Communication, focused on game development by conducting research for a year, transferring information about the marketing of the game in the long term, shooting, and announcing the project on social media channels. . While the project process continued, the communication with the graduate students was kept alive, and the graduate students who received their graduate education were supported by living and experiencing their cultural learning, thus contributing to their graduate education lives.
